Kenneth M. Ross
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Thomson West

Ken Ross is senior vice president and chief technology officer for Thomson West, the foremost provider of electronic workflow solutions to the U.S. legal profession and a business within Thomson North American Legal, a strategic business unit of The Thomson Corporation. Mr. Ross leads the West Technology organization, which builds and maintains West's online products, including westlaw.com. The organization also builds West's content capture and editorial systems, supporting both online information products and print products.

Mr. Ross initially joined The Thomson Corporation in 1998 as vice president and then senior vice president of Technology Strategy. He moved to West in April 2000 as vice president of Business Information and E-Commerce Systems, where he was responsible for implementing the company's Business Systems Initiative, as well as West's e-commerce and Customer Relationship Management systems initiatives. In October 2000, he was appointed to his current position.

Mr. Ross has more than 30 years of experience in the software industry. Prior to joining Thomson, he served in leadership positions at a number of technology companies, including IBM, Texas Instruments, IntelliCorp, Oracle Corporation and Connect.

Mr. Ross received his Bachelor of Science degree from MIT and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts. He also holds two software patents.
