In Memoriam
Douglas Danner was a retired senior partner from the law firm of Powers & Hall PC. He represented clients in a wide variety of litigation matters, including insurance conglomerates, large business corporations, and medical institutions. He had extensive experience in the trial and settlement of personal injury cases. Mr. Danner received his A.B. degree from Harvard University and his J.D. degree from Boston University. Mr. Danner was the lead author of many books on trial practice, pretrial discovery, experts, and medical malpractice, including Expert Witness Checklists 3d, Medical Malpractice Checklists and Discovery 3d, Pattern Deposition Checklists 4th, Pattern Discovery: Employment Discrimination 2d, Pattern Discovery: Employment and Labor Law, Pattern Discovery: Motor Vehicles 3d, Pattern Discovery: Premises Liability 3d, Pattern Discovery: Products Liability 3d, and Trial Practice Checklist 2d. He was a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and co-founding member of Boston Inn of Court. He was also a trustee of the Mabel Louise Riley Foundation and a former director and president of the Jordan Hospital.
Donald J. Rapson of New Jersey, who served as a consultant to several Thomson / West publications, passed away last fall. We are deeply saddened by this loss. Mr. Rapson was a member of the Permanent Editorial Board for the Uniform Commercial Code, served as an ALI representative on the Drafting Committees for several UCC articles, received numerous awards, and authored many scholarly articles. He served as a consultant for the UCC Bulletin and UCC Reporting Service. We join the commercial law community in mourning the loss of this valued colleague and friend.
